Size reduction and performance improvement of a microstrip Wilkinson power divider using a hybrid design technique

Abstract In the design of a microstrip power divider, there are some important factors, including harmonic suppression, insertion loss, and size reduction, which affect quality final product. Thus improving each these factors contributes to more efficient design. this respect, hybrid technique reduce improve performance Wilkinson divider (WPD) is introduced in paper. The proposed method includes typical series LC circuit, miniaturizing inductor, two transmission lines, make an branch. Accordingly, quarter-wavelength branches conventional WPD replaced by branches. Not only does modification lead 100% infinite number harmonics high-frequency selectivity theoretically, but it also results noticeable improvement practically compared using dividers. main contributions extreme reduction suppression for implementation filtering (FPD). Furthermore, tuning arbitrary numbers unwanted blocked while operating frequency, stopband bandwidth, bandwidth chosen optionally. experimental result verifies theoretical simulated demonstrates its potential reducing other similar components.
